Psychiatric Services: Lismore Consultations (in person) :
Telepsychiatry
This is a service where consultations are done online. You will require a computer or smart phone which has a camera and audio as well as good internet reception.
Both Psychiatric Assessments, Diagnosis and Treatment Plans or Psychiatric Assessment & Ongoing care can be done via this online platform.
We use a secure network that protects your privacy.
Telepsychiatry is available to anyone living in metropolitan, regional or rural Australia.
Once you make contact with us, we will email you forms that need to be completed and emailed back to us. We will set up an appointment time and you will be emailed a link for the appointment. You may have to download the app prior to your appointment and then click on the link at the appointment time. Dr. Dang Nguyen will be online at the other end and your consultation will start.
You will be sent an invoice that requires payment several days before your appointment. Your medicare rebate will be processed after the appointment.
Medicare rebates can be processed online through our system and usually takes a day or two. We can also email you the invoice and you can make the Medicare claim through mygov/medicare app.
If you require medications, Dr. Dang Nguyen can give you an escript during the consultation, which is a digital script that will be sent to either your email address or as sms on your phone. All you need to do is take this digital script to your pharmacy and they will dispense your medications. Please note, Dr Dang Nguyen is not able to give you an escript without a consultation.
Psychiatry Reports
Dr. Dang Nguyen can provide reports for specific circumstances, but not for forensic medico-legal reports. Please contact us to discuss what reports you need and the fees for this.
Medicare Rebates
You will need a GP referral to see Dr. Dang Nguyen to get a Medicare rebate.
When you come in for a consultation, the Medicare rebate can be processed on the spot, so you can get the Medicare rebate back into your account if this is connected with Medicare. Rebates usually occur by the next day, if not then we will email you the invoice and you can claim it through myGov app.
Private Health Fund rebates
Private health fund rebates do not apply to Psychiatric Services.
However, when you see a psychiatrist, usually most of the consultations will attract a Medicare rebate.
Bulk Bill
Unfortunately, the Medicare rebate set by the Government for a consultation is insufficient to cover the costs of providing high quality psychiatric services and running a practice (costs of rooms, facilities, staff, tax & other fees).
At Health Wise Innovations we want to provide high quality services, hence we do not bulk bill.
Cancellation Fees
Please provide more than 48 hours notice for canceling or rescheduling of appointments. This is so patients on the waiting list can be offered an appointment and Dr. Dang Nguyen’s time can be best utilised seeing patients in need.
A cancellation fee of 50% of the full fee will be charged where less than 48 hours of non-attendance is provided.
A cancellation fee of 100% of the full fee will be charged when less than 24 hours of non-attendance is provided.
This account needs to be settled before another appointment can be made.
